Reading Resources

Here are some helpful resources for more reading:

These days, the library system does everything online. This is convenient for two reasons: first, the books are free! The second reason is that all of the available formats allow for convenience and accessibility. Beyond that, you can still check out a physical copy at your local branch. I live in Oklahoma, so this is the link is to our metropolitan system. Check your local resources for available options.

You can check books out through apps like Libby and Hoopla. All of this is free – but FYI, if you’re trying to get your hands on a popular book, you may need to place a hold.

There are also some great apps for tracking books and interacting with fellow book-lovers.

StoryGraph is a great app for tracking the analytics of everything you read. You can follow people, and people can follow you, but the platform’s design isn’t conducive to interaction. Regardless, I still use it because it contains a wealth of interesting information about my own reading habits. It’s also great at recommendations based on what you’ve already completed.

Fable is a recent discovery of mine. It has a lot of analytics, but I appreciate it more for the community-building attributes. It tracks your books but includes a feed similar to Facebook. It’s easy to follow people, make book-related posts, and join virtual clubs.

I’m sure there are other resources out there, so please feel free to share! Otherwise, think of this as a place to begin.

My name is Adrienne

I’m an academic with a background in visual art and design. I’m a creator, a maker, and a lifelong learner. The joy of reading was an essential component of my education, in and out of the classroom. I believe that books have the power to transform our perspective in ways we can’t begin to imagine. This is a space where I share what I know, the books I love, and in the process, inspire people to Read More.
